West Nashville United Methodist Church is a community church located at 4710 Charlotte Avenue (next to McDonald's across from Richland Park Library) in the heart of West Nashville, just off the I-40 exit for 46th Ave.  With people of all ages, multiple races and from all walks of life, we seek to be a loving community and do the work we are inspired to do through the reality of Jesus, God's divine presence in the world. We are a community that not only worships together but practices our faith in our larger community. We have many programs throughout the week and many opportunities to volunteer including:  food pantry (Saturday mornings 9-noon) and free community meals (every Thursday at 5:30 p.m.), aid and transition help for the homeless, poor, immigrants and refugees and more. We believe that the church should be a place of transformation for the community and so we invited these vital agents of transformation to share our church space as their main office: Reconciliation, Inc, an outreach that helps prisoners and their families, The Nations Ministry Center, an outreach to refugees and immigrants and The Little Pantry That Could.  Many people in our community call our church home, whether they come here for worship or not. We house a few variants of 12 step recovery meetings as well as the site of progressive community agency meetings such as Transition Nashville. We also host Restorative Yoga every Wednesday evening at 5:30. We are church that believes in transformation through the combination of being and doing: worship and the practice of love of self, others and God in many forms of expression.

For more information on United Methodism, visit our global website: www.umc.org.     Church happens throughout the week, but our Sunday morning service is a special time of gathering where we exchange the peace of Christ. We celebrate the presence of God in the world and in our hearts through our worship with liturgy, prayer, sermons, communion and a wide range of musical styles including classical pipe organ and hymns to alternative and folk/bluegrass. Please feel free to browse this site to learn more about our community. We hope you will join us soon!
